The PDC 17½" drill bit produced by GREAT Group provided powerful empowerment, assisting the BHZ80002 drilling team in drilling Yantan-1 Well — a risk exploration well of the Group Corporation — to successfully achieve "one-trip drilling" in the second section's 444.5 mm large-diameter borehole. With outstanding performance, GREAT Group's drill bit helped break two drilling records for Huabei Oilfield in this borehole specification. Through hardcore product strength and technical support, GREAT Group has injected strong momentum into oil and gas exploration in the Hetao Basin.

The breaking of these two records was primarily attributed to the technical advantages and product strength of GREAT Group's drill bits. GREAT Group's bits are compatible with the "VDT vertical drilling tool + high-torque straight screw" bottom hole assembly and can adapt to the "three larges and two highs" drilling parameters. This achievement not only demonstrates GREAT Group's technological breakthroughs and product competitiveness in the field of fast and excellent drilling in large-diameter boreholes, but also validates the feasibility and superiority of GREAT Group's drill bits in complex risk exploration wells. It provides valuable technical reference and practical experience for the construction of similar wells in the Hetao Basin in the future.

As a key risk exploration well deployed by Huabei Oilfield in the Xinglong structural belt of the Linhe Depression within the Bayannur Sag of the Hetao Basin, Yantan-1 Well bears the important mission of exploring the hydrocarbon potential of the Linhe Formation structure in this region. With a designed depth of 6,050 meters, the well faces extremely complex geological conditions and high construction difficulty. In particular, the second section's 444.5 mm open hole section has a designed barefoot length of up to 3,531 meters. Challenges such as the large-diameter borehole's susceptibility to deviation, difficulty in improving rate of penetration, and significant hole cleaning difficulties pose stringent challenges to wellbore quality control, bottom hole assembly optimization, and drilling fluid performance regulation — truly a "tough nut to crack" in drilling operations. The precisely matched and excellent performance of GREAT Group's PDC drill bit became the core support for overcoming this challenge.
In the early stage of second-section drilling, the GREAT Group-equipped bit achieved a single-day footage of 1,365 meters, with a rate of penetration reaching 113.75 meters per hour — first setting a new daily footage record for 444.5 mm boreholes in Bayan Oilfield. As of March 14, the second-section 444.5 mm borehole had successfully drilled to a depth of 3,486 meters, completing 3,352 meters of footage with an average rate of penetration of 32.23 meters per hour. With the GREAT Group PDC drill bit, the operation successfully achieved "one-trip drilling," breaking two records for Huabei Oilfield's 444.5 mm borehole: one-trip completion and footage per trip.
What is even more noteworthy is that, under the precise fit of the GREAT Group PDC drill bit and the synergistic effect of the bottom hole assembly, the wellbore inclination across the entire section was accurately controlled within 0.3 degrees. The wellbore trajectory was smooth, and wellbore quality reached excellent standards — truly realizing the construction goals of "fast drilling, straight drilling, and good drilling." This fully demonstrates the卓越性能 (superior performance) and reliable quality of GREAT Group's drill bits in complex formations and large-diameter borehole construction.
